angelMD is an investment platform and marketplace connecting innovative medical startups, physicians, investors and industry partners. Physicians from all over the US have joined angelMD to help source, evaluate and advise companies in biotechnology, medical device and healthcare technology. Tobin Arthur, CEO, and Dan Parsley, Senior VP with angelMD, will be in attendance to provide an overview presentation on angelMD's key areas of interest and investment philosophy. angelMD will also be meeting one-on-one with selected companies. Tobin is the Founder and CEO of angelMD, the disruptive technology platform and community focused on early stage healthcare investing. In 2013 Mr. Arthur recognized the need and opportunity to move early stage investing into the modern era turning what has traditionally been a very analog and amateur category of investing into a legitimate asset class. Today angelMD invests in a new company nearly every week and has the largest pipeline of medical startup deal flow in the world connected to thousands of investors including physicians, industry leaders, family offices and anyone interested in the financial and impact opportunity unique to healthcare. A 25-year startup, investment, technology and operations veteran, Tobin and is an expert in crowdfunding, venture investing and physician online businesses. Prior to founding angelMD he was President of an Internet-based medical publishing startup called Cureus where he crafted the blueprint for the company, built the team and launched the platform in operation today.Previously, he was the Founder/CEO of iMedExchange one of the first and largest online networks of physicians. Before that he founded 3DGrid, a technology consultancy serving leading Northwest corporations. At the start of his career, Mr. Arthur spent 8 years with Starbucks Coffee Company in operations and technology management where he was involved in creating some of the companies leading innovations.Tobin graduated from the University of Southern California in English and Entrepreneurial Studies. Born and raised in Denver he currently resides in Seattle, WA with his wife and three children. Tobin is an avid reader and is in constant pursuit of the best local coffee houses during his frequent travels.
Dan Parsley | Senior VP, angelMD
Dan is the Senior Vice President of angelMD, the disruptive technology investment platform and community focused on early stage healthcare investing. In 2016, Dan opened the Houston office for angelMD amid the Texas Medical Center’s Innovation Institute, one of the largest and fasted growing healthcare ecosystems and accelerators in the US. Founded 2013 by healthcare technologists Tobin Arthur and Jens Francis, angelMD solves the need to move early stage investing into the modern era turning what has traditionally been a very analog and amateur category of investing into a legitimate asset class. Today angelMD invests in a new company nearly every week and has the largest pipeline of medical startup deal flow in the world connected to thousands of investors including physicians, industry leaders, family offices and anyone interested in the financial and impact opportunity unique to healthcare. Dan has over 30 years of experience operating, funding, advising and investing in technology companies. Most recently, Dan started and operated an innovative energy efficiency consulting company specializing in industrial facilities. Prior to that, Dan was CEO of SalvageSale, a successful internet company best described as an “industrial eBay” which managed a new, highly efficient global auction platform for the liquidation of a damaged assets sourced by commercial property & marine cargo insurance companies. Dan started his career in management consulting with Accenture and later as a partner with Computer Sciences Corporation.Dan is native of Houston and very active in the charitable community where he resides with his wife and three children. He has served as president of the Children’s Museum of Houston and is currently on the board of the Executive Association of Houston and San Jose Clinic, the latest member of the Texas Medical Center. Dan received an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. Dan enjoys bird hunting and golf with those willing to put up with his game.

Companies must have applied for a one-on-one meeting ahead of time. The one-on-one application period ends on September 1st. Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified of acceptance by email. Acceptance of one-on-one meetings is not guaranteed as all applications must be approved.
About the Meet with... Series:
The purpose of the Meet with Series events sponsored by JLABS is to help start-up entrepreneurs, as well as the academic community, connect with potential partners, such as big pharma or other investment corporations, through one-on-one meetings. It is also a chance for the featured corporation to outline their specific business development goals and clarify what types of products or research they are interested in and how best to approach them to get the partnering process started.
